Job summary

Wytheville Community College is seeking an Instructional Technologist to lead Canvas LMS administration, support learning design, and guide instructional technology initiatives across online, in-person, and hybrid modalities.

The role emphasizes ensuring accessibility and quality in online learning, collaborating with faculty and IT, and advancing instructional technologies to support student success in the service region.

Qualifications

• Mastery of LMS administration and configurations.
• Proven ability to apply learning design principles to courses and materials.
• Experience training faculty and providing professional development.
• Knowledge of digital accessibility and inclusive teaching practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead Canvas admin including setup, roles, and third-party integrations.
• Design and enhance in-person, online, hybrid, and tech-enabled courses.
• Evaluate and implement instructional technologies; provide faculty training.
• Ensure online instruction meets accessibility and quality standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned; report to Vice President of Instruction and Student Development.
