Job summary

Paycom - ATS Cathedral Choir invites a Part-time Section Leader to guide the choir during Thursday evening rehearsals and Sunday mass. You will support Cantorei activities, perform at services when required, and assist in preparing choral music for all sessions.

Responsibilities include leading warm-ups, coaching sectional rehearsals, and coordinating substitutes under the Director of Music's guidance for special services and concerts.

Qualifications

• Experience leading choral sections and rehearsals preferred.
• Ability to thoroughly prepare music for rehearsals and services.
• Strong vocal and musical leadership for congregational singing.

Responsibilities

• Lead Thursday rehearsals 7:30–9:30 PM and Sunday 9:00 AM preparation for Mass.
• Serve in Cathedral Cantorei for services and concerts; sing at scheduled masses when needed.
• Provide vocal support and leadership for congregational singing.
• Lead choral warm-ups and sectional rehearsals as directed by the Director of Music.
• Secure a competent substitute when absent from rehearsals or services.

Job description

1. Serve as a section leader for the Cathedral Choir at Thursday evening rehearsals and Sunday 10:00am mass (mid-September thru mid-June).Thursday evening rehearsals are from 7:30-9:30 PM. Sunday morning rehearsal before mass is at 9:00 AM.2. Serve as a member of the Cathedral Cantorei for special services and concerts; additionally, members of the Cantorei sing at Sunday 10:00am and Noon masses in the absence of the Cathedral Choir (including summer months). Additional special services and concerts may be identified at a later date.3. Have all choral music thoroughly prepared prior to all rehearsals. Provide vocal and musical support to the volunteer choir members, and provide leadership for congregational singing.4. Lead choral warm-ups and sectional rehearsals on occasion, as determined by the Director of Music.5. Secure a competent substitute when requested by the Director of Music if the section leader must be absent from a scheduled rehearsal or service.6.
