Job summary

Equiti is seeking qualified Video Medical Interpreters to work remotely from any U.S.-based location. As a vital member of our interpretation team, you will facilitate clear, accurate, and culturally competent communication between healthcare providers and LEP patients.

You will serve as a professional conduit for information and, when appropriate, a cultural broker to ensure full understanding. Interpreters support both healthcare and educational settings via audio and video modalities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year remote medical interpreting experience.
• 40+ hours of interpreter training (e.g., Bridging the Gap).
• Medical interpretation certification preferred.
• Fluency in English and at least one other language.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and ethics standards.

Responsibilities

• Interpret accurately between providers and LEP patients.
• Adjust register for patient comprehension as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Follow Equiti quality policies and provide excellent service to clients and patients.
• Interact professionally with all users.
• Act as a cultural broker when needed to clarify nuances.
