Job summary

Piedmont Global is seeking experienced Cantonese/Mandarin language instructors to plan and conduct group classes onsite in Arlington, VA. You will use established materials and collaborate with the LTS and team on training and testing matters.

Qualified candidates have 3+ years of teaching adults, proficiency-based assessment experience, and ILR Level 4+ in Cantonese or Mandarin. Hybrid teaching experience and strong computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• Educated speaker of Cantonese or Mandarin (ILR 4+ preferred).
• BA/BS, MA/MS, PhD or foreign-equivalent degree.
• 3+ years teaching Cantonese/Mandarin to adult learners.
• Experience with proficiency-based assessments.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct Cantonese or Mandarin classes onsite in Arlington, VA.
• Use established materials and collaborate with LTS and team on assessments.
• Assess progress and provide feedback; adapt teaching to learners.
• Conduct progress assessments to evaluate advancement.
• Maintain student-centered environment and offer constructive feedback.
• Manage online classroom via the Learning Management System.
• With COR approval, participate in non-classroom activities in the DC area.
