Job summary

ICA Language Services in Rosslyn, VA and online seeks an experienced Mandarin Chinese language instructor (traditional script) to provide intensive instruction focused on listening, speaking, and reading skills. The position combines on-site classroom teaching at our Rosslyn facility with online sessions.

Responsibilities include planning and delivering NFATC-style test preparation aligned with proficiency goals, developing materials, administering practice assessments, and providing progress

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mandarin Chinese, linguistics, education, or related field.
• Minimum two years of experience teaching Mandarin Chinese to adult learners in an intensive setting.
• Familiarity with the ILR proficiency scale and NFATC (FSI) testing protocols.
• Ability to develop materials and exercises aligned with test requirements.
• Strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills.
• Minimum ILR 4/4 proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and demonstrated knowledge of Traditional Chinese characters.
• High proficiency in English sufficient for instruction and feedback.

ICA Language Services is seeking an experienced Mandarin Chinese language instructor (traditional script) to provide instruction at our facility in Rosslyn, VA and online. This position supports intensive classroom language instruction focused on listening, speaking, and reading skills.

• Location: Rosslyn, VA (on-site classroom) and online
• Days: Monday - Friday; preferably Tuesdays/Thursdays in person
• Schedule:9:00 am-2:00 pm

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver intensive Mandarin Chinese (traditional script) classes aligned with NFATC-style test preparation and proficiency goals
• Teach core language skills (listening, speaking, reading) using communicative, task-based, and proficiency-based methods
• Develop and adapt instructional materials to meet learners' specific skill levels and test preparation needs
• Administer practice assessments and quizzes to monitor student progress
• Provide constructive feedback to students and support independent language study

• Under the guidance of the language training supervisor, provide monthly reports of students' progress
