Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Corrections seeks a logistics supervisor to direct purchasing, receiving, storage and distribution of food service items across facilities, while protecting staff, the public and inmates. This role also oversees training and inspections to ensure accurate records and compliance.

Occasional CDL-A driving duties may be required to transport products between the warehouse and canteens.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree and relevant program experience.
Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of relevant program experience.
Associates' degree and four (4) years of relevant program experience.
A high school diploma and six (6) years of relevant program experience.
Must possess or have the ability to obtain CDL - A within one (1) year of hire date.

Responsibilities

Directs and coordinates the purchasing, receiving, storage and distribution, maintenance and ancillary supply of food service items for the agency while protecting the public, our employees and our inmate (safety) goods.
Interviews, hires, evaluates and trains all warehouse and business employees.
Ensure proper inspections of all warehouse merchandise received, proper rotation of goods and verifying accuracy of all transactions and records.
Ensure the receipt for proper credit on items damaged and/or outdated.
Relays credit to accounting sections or electronically credits accounts.
