Job summary

Our Community Our Kids (OCOK) invites qualified candidates to join as a CANS Assessor. The role covers scheduling, coordinating and conducting CANS interviews for children in care, either virtually or in person per policy, and documenting results for placement and permanency teams.

You will ensure timeliness per Texas rate requirements and maintain strict confidentiality. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) and at least 2 years in child welfare, with strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in child welfare; CANS assessment experience preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedules, coordinates and conducts CANS interviews in child’s home, community or via telehealth.
• Documents and communicates CANS results to permanency and placement teams.
• Enters assessment data into eCANS and DFPS IMPACT systems.
• Provides guidance to OCOK and CPI staff on CANS goals and outcomes.
• Attends trainings and maintains required certifications.
