Job summary

Story Cannabis, headquartered in Phoenix, AZ, seeks an Assistant General Manager to drive top-line sales growth and build a high-performing team in a fast-paced cannabis retail environment.

You will lead customer service, sales training, product knowledge, inventory controls, and compliance, while partnering with internal teams to optimize labor costs and operations. This role requires a strong leader with data-driven mindset.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED; associate degree preferred.
• 2+ years of management in high-volume retail, cannabis experience preferred.
• Experience with POS systems and backend compliance tools such as Dutchie and Metrc.
• Strong leadership and ability to recruit and train staff.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Analytical with ability to set and track store KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement sales strategies to drive positive growth within the dispensary.
• Maintain inventory controls and ensure compliance standards.
• Coach, train, and develop staff aligned with company goals and vision.
• Partner with the General Manager to monitor KPIs and leverage data for labor, sales, and training.
• Help hire, train and onboard new staff within the dispensary.
• Assist with day-to-day operations and coordinate with marketing, retail operations, and supply chain.
