Job description

The Cannabis Retail Associate (referred to as budtender) is responsible for providing outstanding service and assistance to patients and guests visiting our dispensary in Hudson, MA. They assist the management team with all facets of dispensary operations, in compliance with local and state laws, including 105A CMR 725 and 935 CMR 500. The Retail Associate aims to offer a consultative buying experience, partnering with guests to find the best available products and ensuring a transformative guest experience.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assist qualifying patients, caregivers, and adult-use guests in obtaining cannabis and medicated products.
  2. Participate in ongoing training to enhance customer service delivery.
  3. Assist with opening and closing the dispensary, following operational policies and safeguarding assets.
  4. Ensure compliance with program regulations, including seed-to-sale software use.
  5. Maintain a well-stocked, attractive dispensary environment.
  6. Uphold cleanliness standards and Serv-Safe protocols for infused products.
  7. Partner with guests to find the best products for their needs, providing a transformative experience.
  8. Maintain store security, including handling cash and financial instruments.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
  1. Ability to work primarily closing shifts.
  2. Passion for serving patients, caregivers, and adult-use guests in Massachusetts.
  3. Proficiency in handling multiple demands and time management.
  4. Ability to learn seed-to-sale POS software and ensure compliance.
  5. Strong attention to detail and high energy with a positive attitude.
  6. Excellent customer service skills, validated by feedback.
  7. Active listening skills to guide guest product choices.
  8. Thorough knowledge of program guidelines and company policies.
  9. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  10. Ability to visually inspect products for quality and accuracy.
  11. Willingness to take on new responsibilities and ensure compliance with regulations.
  12. Focus on accuracy and efficiency, leveraging technology.
  13. Bilingual skills in English/Spanish or English/Portuguese are a plus.
Essential Job Functions:
  1. Stand and walk for extended periods.
  2. Bend, stoop, reach, and lift loads up to 50 pounds.
  3. Perform repetitive hand movements for grasping, pushing, and manipulating.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Starting wage: $18.50/hour
  • Employer covers approximately 70% of medical, dental, and vision insurance, including for family members.
