Job summary

The State of Missouri is seeking an Investigation Officer located in Jefferson City to regulate cannabis licensees and identify cardholders. The role involves reviewing complaints, gathering evidence, and testifying in proceedings to ensure compliance with state laws and department rules.

You will analyze product inventory, coordinate with divisions, and support enforcement actions while maintaining daily records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• 2–4 years of relevant regulatory experience preferred.
• Reliable transportation for site visits.
• Regulatory experience is highly preferred.
• High initiative and problem solving skills.
• Ability to mine data systems for compliance and investigative needs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; quick to learn specialized systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth reviews of investigations; locate, interview, prepare statements, collect records, prepare evidence, and provide testimony.
• Track enforcement actions against licensees or ID card holders.
• Analyze cannabis product inventory in the statewide track and trace system for compliance.
• Coordinate with other units when addressing licensee or ID holder compliance.
• Cooperate with other agencies and offices in directing investigations and presenting cases.
• Recommend, issue, and follow up with notices of violation and enforcement tools.
• Exercise independence and initiative; follow general administrative direction.
• Maintain information in established systems for enforcement purposes daily.
• Research and develop solutions based on laws, rules, guidance, and training to ensure consistency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
