Job summary

HirexHire is seeking a Procurement Buyer for a cannabis-focused client based in Massachusetts. You will oversee cultivation-related indirect materials, grow supplies, and MRO, coordinating with facilities, warehouse, and finance to ensure uninterrupted production.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of procurement experience, strong vendor management, ERP/MRP experience, and the ability to collaborate across teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Agriculture, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchase orders from creation through delivery, ensuring accuracy, timely fulfillment, and resolution of invoicing or shipment discrepancies.
• Source cultivation supplies, indirect materials, and MRO products while engaging established and site-specific vendors to evaluate pricing, availability, and lead times.
• Forecast demand with cultivation, facilities, warehouse, and inventory teams to maintain appropriate inventory levels across facilities.
• Develop purchasing strategies that minimize shortages, excess inventory, and total cost of ownership while supporting uninterrupted production operations.
• Manage supplier relationships and monitor vendor performance across cost, quality, service, and delivery metrics.
• Lead negotiations for bulk and one-time purchases, securing favorable pricing and terms.
• Ensure procurement activities meet internal quality standards, regulatory requirements, and budgetary guidelines with Compliance, QA, and Finance.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for procurement categories, supporting ERP/MRP configuration, training, process adoption, and policy compliance.
• Identify and implement process improvements across procurement, logistics, inventory management, and supplier operations.
• Educate internal stakeholders on procurement processes, best practices, and compliance requirements while partnering with site and corporate teams.
