Job summary

Story Cannabis is seeking an experienced Packaging Manager to lead all packaging activities across our Arkansas, Maryland, and Louisiana operations. You will manage packaging teams, enforce SOPs, and ensure compliance with state regulations, quality standards, and production goals.

In this role you’ll optimize workflows, coordinate with production, QA, and inventory, track metrics, maintain equipment, and mentor staff to drive safe, efficient packaging output aligned with brand expectations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of management experience in manufacturing and production, with cannabis industry experience preferred.
• Knowledge of inventory control, production operations, packaging operations, order management, performance metrics, costs.
• Sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, initiative, attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead all packaging department staff, including training, scheduling, performance management, and development.
• Oversee daily packaging operations to ensure accuracy, quality, and throughput targets.
• Create, update, and enforce SOPs for packaging processes, equipment usage, sanitation, and safety.
• Maintain product quality with proper labeling, weighing, sealing, and packaging for cannabis goods.
• Coordinate with QA to implement quality control standards and corrective actions.
• Align packaging schedules with production needs and order deadlines.
• Track packaging performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement efficiency improvements.
• Oversee packaging equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs with facilities teams.
• Ensure packaging activities comply with state cannabis regulations, labeling, batch tracking, and handling rules.
• Monitor inventory levels of packaging materials and coordinate timely reorders.
• Maintain accurate records of packaged quantities, batch logs, and compliance documentation.
• Foster a positive, safety-focused, and team-oriented work environment.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
