Job summary

Acreage CCF NJ, a Canopy USA, LLC subsidiary, is seeking a hands-on Extraction Operations Lead to manage daily hydrocarbon extraction and post-processing in a compliant lab environment.

You will lead staffing, optimize throughput, and develop SOPs while mentoring technicians. Strong regulatory knowledge and cross-functional collaboration are essential for maintaining quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ with HS diploma; STEM degree preferred.
• 5+ years in cannabis extraction/processing; 4+ in state-certified facility.
• Expertise in hydrocarbon extraction and post-processing methods.
• Proficient with MS Office and Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end daily extraction operations in an audit-ready lab.
• Lead schedules, delegate work, coach team, and manage conflicts.
• Plan workflows with Senior Production Manager; optimize capacity.
• Create, refine, and enforce SOPs for extraction, distillation, post-processing.
• Ensure compliance with state regs, OSHA, and GMP; maintain audit readiness.
• Oversee cleaning and preventive maintenance to keep equipment running.
• Drive innovation, upskill team on cannabinoids, terpenes, distillation.

Picture your day: you arrive on the production floor at Acreage CCF NJ, a subsidiary of Canopy USA, LLC. Safety huddle first, then a quick walk-through of the hydrocarbon extraction suite. You review overnight runs, assess yields, and tune today's plan with the team - balancing throughput, quality, and compliance. By midday you're refining SOPs for winterization and distillation; by afternoon you're collaborating with the Senior Production Manager to align output with demand, and mentoring technicians on new post-processing techniques. Every decision you make advances consistency, efficiency, and product integrity.

What you'll lead

• End-to-end daily extraction operations: Maintain a spotless, audit-ready lab while driving safe, efficient cannabis extraction and related processes.
• People leadership: Build schedules, delegate work to hit production and inventory targets, and cultivate a high-performance culture with clear communication, coaching, and conflict resolution.
• Throughput and SOP excellence: Partner with the Senior Production Manager to plan workflows and optimize capacity. Create, refine, and enforce SOPs for extraction, distillation, and post-processing (e.g., winterization, refining, formulating) and the safe handling of gases and equipment.
• Quality and compliance: Keep all processes, documentation, and inventory aligned with state regulations, OSHA guidelines, and GMP standards - always audit-ready.
• Uptime and safety: Oversee cleaning and preventative maintenance per manufacturer specs and internal procedures to keep equipment running and teams protected.
• Innovation and continuous improvement: Elevate workflows, product uniformity, and new formulations. Track developments in cannabinoids, terpenes, and distillation, and upskill the team accordingly.

What you bring

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's in biology, chemistry, or related field strongly preferred
• 5+ years relevant industry experience, including 4+ years leading in a state-certified cannabis extraction/processing facility (strongly preferred)
• Demonstrated expertise in hydrocarbon extraction and post-processing methods
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to complete assignments per instructions, routines, and established practices
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Google Sheets/Docs/Drive
• Comfort with inventory systems and standard lab/office equipment
