Job summary

This on-site role requires 1–2 years of retail or customer-service experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to operate a POS system. You must be 21+, willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays, and participate in ongoing product training and compliance activities.

• Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with friendly, professional service.
• Educate customers on cannabis products, cannabinoids, terpenes and consumption methods.
• Assist customers in selecting products based on preferences and needs.
• Accurately process transactions using the Sweed POS system.
• Verify customer identification and follow age-verification requirements.
• Follow NJ Cannabis Regulatory Commission requirements and company procedures.
• Maintain accurate transaction and product information in POS and inventory systems.
• Assist with online and pickup orders and verify order accuracy.
• Stock, merchandise and replenish products as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized sales floor and workstation.
• Participate in ongoing product, compliance and customer-service training.
• Support inventory counts and other store operations as assigned.

Position Summary

The Cannabis Advisor provides knowledgeable, professional customer service while helping customers navigate our cannabis product selection. This role requires strong communication, attention to detail and consistent adherence to company procedures and New Jersey cannabis regulations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide friendly, professional and individualized service.
• Educate customers on available cannabis products, product types, cannabinoids, terpenes and consumption methods without providing medical advice.
• Assist customers in selecting products based on their stated preferences and needs.
• Accurately process transactions using the Sweed point-of-sale system.
• Verify customer identification and follow all age-verification requirements.
• Follow New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission requirements and company compliance procedures.
• Maintain accurate transaction and product information within applicable point-of-sale and inventory systems.
• Assist with online and pickup orders and verify order accuracy.
• Stock, merchandise and replenish products as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized and professional sales floor and workstation.
• Participate in ongoing product, compliance and customer-service training.
• Support inventory counts and other store operations as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1-2 years of retail, hospitality or customer-service experience preferred.
• Must satisfy all background check and regulatory requirements applicable to the position.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Comfortable learning cannabis products, terminology and regulations.
• Ability to accurately operate point-of-sale and basic computer systems.
• Dependable, professional and able to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as scheduled.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous cannabis retail experience.
• Knowledge of cannabinoids, terpenes and common cannabis product categories.
• Experience with Sweed, Metrc or another regulated retail/inventory system.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Physical Requirements

This position regularly requires standing and walking for extended periods and may require bending, reaching and moving merchandise. Employees must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
