Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a CANES Technical Writer for a high-visibility U.S. Navy prototype initiative, in a fully remote role. You will ensure documentation is clear, accurate, and aligned with Navy CANES standards, serving both technical and non-technical stakeholders throughout the prototype lifecycle.

The position requires an Active Secret Clearance and 5–8 years of technical writing experience in federal or Navy environments. Remote work is supported nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 5–8 years of technical writing in technical, engineering, Navy, or federal environments.
• Navy or CANES program experience preferred.
• Experience developing user manuals, SOPs, system documentation, proposals/RFP responses, and knowledge-base articles.
• Strong ability to translate technical concepts into clear, structured, and accessible documentation.
• Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
• Active Secret Clearance.

• Document system architecture, design decisions, deployment procedures, and testing results.

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a CANES Technical Writer to support a high‑visibility U.S. Navy prototype initiative.This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing, Service‑Disabled Veteran‑Owned Small Business supporting mission‑critical federal programs in a fully remote role. The CANES Technical Writer will play a key role in ensuring all project documentation is clear, accurate, and aligned with Navy standards, supporting both technical and non‑technical stakeholders throughout the prototype lifecycle.

This position requires an Active Secret Clearance to be considered.

Responsibilities of the CANES Technical Writer include:

Compensation for the CANES Technical Writer includes:

• Salary Range: $65,000 – $75,000
