Job summary

DLH Corporation seeks a Technical Instructor / Course Developer to support CANES and C4I modernization efforts, focusing on curriculum development and aligning training to the latest fleet baseline. You will translate system updates into practical instructions for Sailors, with classroom and hands-on duties as required.

This role emphasizes disciplined course development using Navy tools, ISD processes, and real-world network administration experience to ensure fleet readiness across CANES

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Formal Training Certification required.
  • Navy Basic Instructor Training (NEC 805A or 9502) or industry trainer certs (e.g., Microsoft/CompTIA).
  • Cybersecurity workforce qualification within nine months per DoD 8570/8140.
  • Eight years in a technical trade (electronics, shipboard networks, or related C4I).
  • Hands-on experience with Navy Shipboard Networks (CANES/TACNET).
  • Experience in three areas: Network Admin, System Admin, Technical Documentation, and Training.
  • Expertise in C4I Networks and System Administration.
  • Experience defining training requirements and building structured programs.
  • Experience using Navy authoring tools (CPM/LOM, AIM).
  • Experience applying Instructional System Design processes.
  • Prior CANES/TACNET admin experience.
  • Experience supporting fleet modernization or upgrade training.
  • Preferred: Navy Master Training Specialist designation.
  • Preferred: Pilot courses or fleet refresher training.
  • Active Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Review system updates to align curriculum with CANES baseline.
  • Develop, update CANES and C4I courseware, lesson plans, student guides, materials, and labs.
  • Apply ISD to define requirements and objectives.
  • Use Navy tools (CPM/LOM, AIM) to develop curriculum.
  • Ensure materials reflect real-world administration practices and fleet standards.
  • Deliver instructor-led classroom and hands-on training as needed for pilots and fleet events.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and incorporate feedback for accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborate with engineering and program teams to keep training aligned with configurations.
