Job summary

See’s Candies is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee candy-making operations from raw materials to finished goods, ensuring safety, quality, service, and cost aligned with company standards.

The role requires five+ years of confectionery manufacturing leadership, strong communication, and proficiency with relevant ERP and scheduling tools. A bachelor’s degree in a food/management discipline is preferred, with opportunities for growth and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of management experience in confectionery or quality food-manufacturing with inventory control and QA.
• Excellent management and oral and written communication skills.
• Spanish is a plus.
• Ability to lead, motivate and supervise employees at all levels.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training in food/management disciplines.
• Proficiency in Word and Excel.
• Experience with warehouse/purchasing/production scheduling software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee candy-making operations, ensuring safety, quality, service and cost.
• Manage ERP transactions for scheduling, staffing, supply/ingredient planning, inventory control, and production reporting.
• Coordinate hiring and layoffs with HR, ensuring union contract compliance.
• Establish shift schedules to support safe, efficient operations.
• Supervise production personnel, including training and performance management.
• Maintain SOPs and training programs per policies and union contract.
• Ensure GMP, food safety, and production policy compliance.
• Monitor formulas/procedures and provide guidance during plant operations.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and maintain documentation.
• Lead safety and quality initiatives with SQF Practitioner.
• Develop and monitor departmental budget aligned to goals.
