Job description

The Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. We are a true farm-to-table company with an integrated portfolio including food processing and food brands, phosphate mining, fertilizer manufacturing, farming, ranching and cattle production, and other enterprises related to agriculture.

About the Role

As a Candidate Care Specialist, you’ll play an important role in creating a welcoming, supportive, and seamless experience for candidates throughout the hiring and onboarding process.

You’ll work closely with our Talent Acquisition team to provide personalized, hands-on support to candidates who may need additional guidance navigating recruiting technology, completing pre-employment requirements, or understanding hiring and onboarding steps.

This is a highly people-focused role where patience, empathy, organization, and follow-through matter. You’ll help candidates understand what comes next, work through potential roadblocks, and feel supported from the hiring process through their first day.

This position is based at our Headquarters in downtown Boise, Idaho, and works on-site five days per week. Because this role regularly supports Spanish-speaking candidates, professional Spanish speaking and writing skills are required.

Why Join Simplot?

At Simplot, you’ll be part of a team where your work can make a meaningful difference in someone’s hiring experience. As a Candidate Care Specialist, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Make a real impact by helping candidates successfully navigate important steps toward their next career opportunity.
  • Build meaningful connections while providing personalized support that can make a complicated process feel easier.
  • Be part of a collaborative Talent Acquisition team, partnering with recruiters, hiring teams, and others across the organization.
  • Use your bilingual skills every day to help create a more accessible and welcoming experience for Spanish-speaking candidates.
  • Work from Simplot Headquarters in downtown Boise, giving you the opportunity to build connections and collaborate with colleagues in person.
  • Work in a role where service, empathy, problem-solving, and follow-through truly matter.
What You’ll Do
  • Serve as a dedicated point of contact for candidates identified by Talent Partners as needing additional hiring or onboarding support.
  • Provide timely, proactive, and personalized guidance throughout the recruiting and onboarding process, with particular focus on pre-employment requirements and onboarding tasks.
  • Help candidates navigate recruiting technology, complete required steps, understand instructions, and work through questions or barriers along the way.
  • Communicate with candidates in both English and Spanish, helping ensure information and next steps are clear and easy to understand.
  • Support Talent Partners with interview coordination, background checks, candidate travel arrangements, and other recruiting activities.
  • Partner closely with Talent Partners, Hiring Managers, the TA Adjudicator, and external vendors to help keep hiring and onboarding activities moving forward.
  • Track candidate progress and proactively follow up on outstanding requirements to help prevent unnecessary delays.
  • Provide recruiting and onboarding administrative support, including data entry, document handling, invoicing, tracking, and reporting.
  • Help create a positive candidate experience that reflects the care, professionalism, and responsiveness of our Talent Acquisition team.
What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who enjoys helping people, communicates with care, and can keep things moving when there are multiple priorities. You’ll be a great fit if you bring:

  • A high school diploma or GED, along with 3+ years of related experience and/or training.
  • Professional Spanish speaking and writing proficiency, as you’ll regularly support Spanish-speaking candidates.
  • A strong customer-service mindset and a genuine desire to help others have a positive experience.
  • Clear, confident communication skills and the ability to explain information in a way that is easy to understand.
  • Strong organization and follow-through, with the ability to manage multiple candidates, tasks, and deadlines at once.
  • Comfort working independently and taking initiative in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Patience and empathy, especially when helping someone navigate an unfamiliar process or technology.
  • A collaborative, adaptable approach and a willingness to jump in where support is needed.
  • Previous experience in recruiting, Talent Acquisition, HR, onboarding, candidate support, or a related field is a plus.
What Makes Someone Successful in This Role

You may be a great fit if you’re someone who genuinely enjoys helping people, naturally follows up, and takes pride in making complicated processes feel easier. You’re comfortable meeting people where they are, explaining information in different ways, and staying organized when there are a lot of moving pieces.

Most importantly, you understand that behind every hiring task is a person taking an important step in their career. You want to make sure they feel informed, welcomed, and supported along the way.
