United Urology Group is seeking a Cancer Services Manager to provide operational, clinical, and administrative leadership across cancer services in the Denver area. You will oversee staff performance, financial stewardship, quality outcomes, and regulatory compliance to advance our cancer service line goals.

Lead nursing teams, coordinate with physicians and allied departments, and guide workflow improvements while ensuring patient-centered care and safety.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical oncology nursing experience.
• Minimum of two years of nursing leadership experience preferred (e.g., charge nurse, supervisor, manager).
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification required at hire or within 12 months of hire.
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and chemotherapy/biotherapyProvider cert preferred.
• Experience with budget management, staffing models, and regulatory compliance preferred.

Job Description

The Cancer Services Manager provides operational, clinical, and administrative leadership for cancer services across assigned locations and the continuum of care. This role ensures the delivery of safe, evidence-based, patient-centered care while overseeing staff performance, financial stewardship, quality outcomes, and regulatory compliance. The Cancer Services Manager serves as a key liaison among clinical staff, physicians, ancillary departments, and administration to advance the strategic goals of the cancer service line.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Management

• Provide direct leadership and oversight to nursing and support staff within the cancer service line, including workforce scheduling, staffing plans, daily operations, and accountability for established performance and patient-care standards.
• Recruit, select, onboard, train, coach, and evaluate staff; complete performance reviews; recognize performance; and administer corrective action and progressive discipline in accordance with organizational policies.
• Foster a culture of accountability, professional growth, teamwork, and patient-centered care among staff.
• Lead change management initiatives related to workflow redesign, new technology, or service line expansion.
• Round regularly on patients, families, and staff to identify and resolve operational or care-delivery issues in real time.
• Serve as a resource and escalation point for complex clinical, staffing, or patient/family concerns.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse navigators, pharmacy, radiation oncology, and other multidisciplinary partners to coordinate seamless care across cancer services.
• Participate in service line strategic planning, program development, and growth initiatives.
• Champion employee engagement efforts and support retention strategies within the department.

Administrative

• Develop, monitor, and manage the department's operating and capital budgets; identify and act on variances.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies; applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations; and relevant accreditation and safety standards, including those established by The Joint Commission, the Commission on Cancer, and OSHA.
• Maintain unit-level compliance with oncology-specific regulatory and accreditation requirements, including documentation and reporting standards.
• Prepare and present operational, quality, and financial reports to senior leadership.
• Oversee staffing productivity, labor cost management, and resource allocation in alignment with volume and acuity.
• Lead or participate in oncology performance improvement and quality assurance initiatives by monitoring relevant clinical and operational metrics, identifying trends, implementing corrective actions, and evaluating results.
• Manage supply chain needs, equipment requests, and vendor relationships relevant to the unit.
• Support survey readiness and participate in internal and external audits.
• Maintain accurate and current departmental records, policies, procedures, and manuals in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.

• Working knowledge of Commission on Cancer (CoC) accreditation standards and other regulatory requirements relevant to cancer services.
• Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and develop diverse staff.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Financial acumen, including budget development, labor management, and productivity analysis.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of quality and safety principles, including performance improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, PDSA).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-acuity clinical environment.
• Commitment to patient- and family-centered care, cultural competence, and evidence-based practice.

Direct Reports

• Nurse navigators, radiation therapists, pharmacy technicians, and other cancer center staff as assigned.

Travel

• Ability and willingness to travel among cancer service locations within the Denver metropolitan area and surrounding region, as business needs require.

Work Schedule

• Full-time, exempt position. Schedule may vary based on operational needs and may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, or after-hours support.
