Job summary

Catholic Health in New York seeks a Per Diem Cancer Registrar to identify, abstract, code, and validate cancer registry data in line with NYS reporting and CoC standards. The role supports data accuracy, completeness, and follow-up with patients.

Responsibilities include case finding, data extraction, coding, quality review, and timely submissions; collaboration with oncology offices; ensuring records are complete and compliant.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and cancer diagnoses.
• Experience with data abstraction, coding, and registry standards.
• Ability to work independently and with clinical staff while ensuring accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Identifies reportable cancer cases using multiple data sources.
• Abstracts demographic, diagnostic, staging, treatment, and follow-up data.
• Codes and enters data into the registry database per standards.
• Reviews abstracts for accuracy and submits to NYS and CoC as applicable.
• Conducts ongoing patient follow-up and maintains complete records.
