Job summary

Catholic Health is seeking an Oncology Data Specialist to manage the Cancer Registry and related data systems. You will abstract, code, analyze, and report cancer data using CRStar and other registry tools, ensuring timely submissions to NYSCR and other agencies.

The role emphasizes data quality and compliance, with a fully remote work option and requirement for RHIT/RHIA credentials plus ODS certification. Experience with cancer registry software and Microsoft Excel is valued.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in health information with RHIT/RHIA preferred.
• ODS credentials required; maintain via NCRA CE requirements.
• 6–12 months experience preferred in cancer registry or related field.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Cancer Registry components and data systems in compliance with standards.
• Abstract, codes, analyzes and reports cancer data using registry tools.
• Ensure accurate, timely data submissions to NYSCR and regulatory agencies.
• Support long‑term follow‑up, data quality, and reporting initiatives.
