Job summary

Tampa Cancer Institute seeks a dedicated Cancer Registry Coordinator to oversee registry operations and support accreditation by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. The role ensures compliance with CoC and Florida Cancer Data System standards, and supervises accurate abstraction and reporting of reportable malignancies.

Eligible candidates will have a bachelor's degree, five years’ registry experience in a CoC facility, and at least three years in leadership roles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum five years of cancer registry abstracting in a CoC facility.
• Minimum three years in a team lead or supervisory role.
• Florida residency required or to be obtained.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Cancer Registry activities in accordance with state, federal, and accrediting requirements.
• Abstract and report cancer data accurately and in compliance with standards.
• Develop, implement, and update policies, procedures, and workflows.
• Provide training and guidance to registry staff on coding and reporting guidelines.
• Represent the registry on committees and contribute to strategic oncology accreditation planning.
• Maintain current knowledge of evolving cancer registry standards.
