  • Associate's Degree in Health Information Management or related field plus 2 years of experience.

Job Summary

The Cancer Registrar manages, analyzes, and interprets clinical cancer information for education, research, and outcomes. Responsibilities include case identification, coding, data collection, and ensuring compliance with standards of the American College of Surgeons (ACOS) and the Commission on Cancer (CoC). The role supports hospital planning, treatment, research, and patient outcome monitoring, serving as a key data expert bridging clinicians and statisticians.

Qualifications
  • Current Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) credential from NCRA
  • Associate's Degree in Health Information Management or related field plus 2 years of Cancer Registry experience
  • Knowledge of cancer registry principles, medical records, coding systems, and database management
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Preferred: RHIA, RHIT, CPC, or CCS certifications
Additional Responsibilities
  • Maintaining accurate cancer data and ensuring timely reporting
  • Collaborating with clinical staff for complete documentation
  • Conducting follow-ups and quality control activities
  • Supporting research and registry compliance
