Job summary

Stanford Health Care seeks a senior Applications Platform Expert to provide deep technical mastery across oncology platforms, lead cross-team solutioning, and mentor analytics within the Applications organization. This role will maintain current knowledge of platform capabilities and proactively apply them to complex clinical and research challenges.

The position requires domain depth in oncology workflows, interoperability across Epic ecosystem, and proactive roadmap input to align technology

Qualifications

8+ years of healthcare applications/IT experience
Strong coaching and communication skills
Ability to influence without formal authority
Experience mentoring or informally coaching less experienced staff

Responsibilities

Technical Solutioning & Tool Evaluation
Operates at high-level solution shaping before a project is chartered and deep technical design once work begins
Evaluates build-vs-buy and native-platform-vs-purpose-built tradeoffs
Maintains fluency across adjacent IT domains (integration, infrastructure, security, data)
Partners with other IT teams as a peer convener for cross-team solutioning sessions
Defines technical approaches and build strategies for projects as the technical expert
Advises on proposed approaches from other analysts and serves as peer reviewer
In smaller efforts, may hold project-coordination responsibilities as a PM adjunct
Documents build decisions and maintains knowledge bases
