Job summary

Universal DX, Inc. is seeking an R&D Research Associate in Dallas Fort Worth to support the development of Signal-C, an NGS assay for colorectal cancer screening.

You will execute study protocols under scientist supervision, handle cfDNA processing, and assist with library preparation and sequencing. The role emphasizes hands-on molecular biology with guidance, cross-functional collaboration, and on-site work in Dallas Fort Worth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, biotechnology, biomedical or biomechanical engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on molecular biology experience through academic research or industry lab work, including DNA extraction and PCR.
• Familiarity with automated liquid handlers or lab automation; ability to learn Hamilton run setup and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bench protocols and run plans; execute bespoke studies with guidance and document variables.
• Process plasma and extract cfDNA; perform library preparation, methylation conversion, PCR, bead cleanup, target capture, and sequencing.
• Set up Hamilton or similar liquid handlers after training and verify layouts and parameters.
