Job description

General Description / Primary Purpose

Part‑time adjunct faculty position in the Department of Clinical & Applied Movement Sciences. Adjunct faculty are employed on a semester‑by‑semester basis, as needed, and are non‑tenure‑earning. The role involves teaching assigned courses, holding office hours, and mentoring students.

Position Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned course(s) in accordance with the approved syllabus and course schedule.
  • Hold scheduled office hours with frequency and modality negotiated with the program director and department chair.
  • Mentor students.
Working Hours

Part‑time work schedule varies.

Required Licensure
  • Kinesiology (undergraduate and graduate): N/A
  • Athletic Training: Board of Certification, Florida licensure or eligibility for athletic training licensure in Florida.
Compensation

Adjunct faculty are paid a minimum of $1000 per credit hour.

Required Qualifications
  • Kinesiology Undergraduate
    • Earned master’s degree in Exercise Science (or related field).
  • Kinesiology Graduate
    • Earned doctoral degree in Exercise Science (or related field).
  • Athletic Training
    • Earned doctoral degree in biomechanics, exercise science, sports medicine, or a related field.
    • Certification and good standing with the Board of Certification.
    • Current Florida licensure or eligibility for athletic training licensure in Florida.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Kinesiology Undergraduate and Graduate: Record of diverse teaching experiences in course areas needed for the department.
  • Athletic Training: Record of diverse teaching experiences in course areas needed for the department.
  • American College of Sports Medicine, National Strength and Conditioning Associations, and other related certifications.
