Job summary

Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts is seeking a Peer Advocate for Wellness (PAW) in a work-study role. The position supports mental health and wellness education for students by creating resources, designing curricula, and helping run health-related events on campus.

Responsibilities include developing initiatives, collaborating with campus partners, and maintaining the wellness space. Open to enrolled students with Federal Work-Study awards; approx.

Qualifications

  • Have a Federal Work-Study award in your financial aid package.
  • Availability to work approximately 5 hours per week (flexible based on Federal Work-Study award).
  • Open to currently enrolled MCLA students of all class years.
  • Passionate about health & wellness education, program planning & facilitation.
  • Understand how systemic oppression impacts well-being; commitment to improving barriers to health & wellness.
  • Skills preferred include leadership, public speaking, event planning, curriculum building, workshop facilitation, social media, art & graphic design, and research.
  • Students of all majors/minors are encouraged to apply!

Responsibilities

  • Develop health promotion initiatives for the MCLA community.
  • Design health education curriculum for MCLA students.
  • Facilitate events and programming such as workshops, resource fairs, wellness trivia, etc.
  • Collaborate with other departments, student groups, and local organizations.
  • Connect students to information and resources via monthly Wellness newsletters, social media, brochures, and flyers.
  • Maintain the Tranquility Space wellness room.
