Job summary

Mission Pet Health is seeking a Student Advocate in Birmingham, AL to act as a vital conduit between our network and veterinary students. You will build relationships with students, faculty, and clubs, promoting careers and opportunities while gaining leadership experience.

You'll coordinate campus events, share externships and job openings, and provide insights on campus activities. This role offers real-world experience and professional networking in the veterinary field.

Qualifications

• Current 1st, 2nd, or 3rd-year veterinary student status.
• Active engagement within your school community and veterinary student clubs.
• You must not be employed by another veterinary group as a student representative.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary link between Mission Pet Health and your university's students, faculty, and student organizations.
• Promote awareness and participation in DVM student programs through networking, email outreach, and attending student meetings.
• Host at least one campus engagement event per semester, managing scheduling and catering.
• Share information with peers about externships, job openings, and career paths within the network.
• Keep the team informed about job fairs and campus events, assist visits, and promote presence on campus.
• Complete at least one clinical rotation at a Mission Pet Health hospital within the first year.
• Support social media with monthly content such as photos or stories about experiences and student events.
