The primary location of this position is on-site in Cullowhee, NC, and involves operating construction equipment such as backhoes to support water, sewer, and electrical installations. The role also covers grounds maintenance and occasional snow duty leadership, with the added responsibility of supervising an assigned crew when the supervisor is away.

Applicants should have a CDL class B or the ability to obtain one within six months, plus a high school diploma and substantial experience

Qualifications

• CDL class B license required or obtainable within 6 months.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license required.
• High school diploma or equivalent and related equipment experience.
• Experience operating backhoe and general maintenance of equipment.

Responsabilités

• Operate construction equipment (backhoe, skid steer, loader, dozer, etc.) to support utilities work.
• Perform grounds maintenance tasks including mowing and weed eating as needed.
• Supervise assigned crew in the absence of a supervisor and assist snow duty leadership.
• Respond to campus emergencies within 1 hour and coordinate equipment for repairs.
