Job summary

Sodexo in Portland, ME is seeking a part-time Utility Worker to support kitchen and facility operations. You will clean and sanitize surfaces, equipment, and storage areas, assist with set‑up and break‑down, and help maintain a safe, orderly work environment.

Wage is $18.00 per hour. Flexible shifts with varying days; open availability preferred. High school diploma or equivalent and knowledge of sanitation procedures are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of sanitation procedures, including basic food safety concepts.
• Ability to follow cleaning schedules and safety guidelines.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain sanitary work areas.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes by hand or use dishwashing machine.
• Clean and sanitize worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors; trash removal.
• Restock supplies (soap, towels, cleaning materials).
• Move and transport supplies as needed; stand or walk for extended periods.
• Perform other duties as assigned based on client needs.
