Job summary

ENGIE North America seeks a Utility Locator to identify and mark underground assets on the University of Iowa campus. You will support electrical, water, and other systems, coordinate with ENGIE teams, university stakeholders, and contractors, and respond to Iowa One Call locate requests.

Proficiency with GIS/GPS mapping, CAD, and CMMS is important. You’ll work primarily in the field (80%) with some indoor documentation tasks, and you must hold a valid U.S.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED; technical training or associates degree preferred.
• 1+ year of experience in utility locating, surveying, or related field.
• Familiarity with GIS/GPS mapping technology and CMMS systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform and coordinate utility locating for underground systems across campus.
• Respond to locate requests and maintain accurate utility mapping records.
• Coordinate with ENGIE teams and contractors for excavation and maintenance activities.
• Use GPS to collect field data and update maps with CAD/GIS teams.
• Create, update, and close CMMS work orders and document field work.
