ENGIE North America seeks a Utility Locator to identify and mark underground assets on the University of Iowa campus. You will support electrical, water, and other systems, coordinate with ENGIE teams, university stakeholders, and contractors, and respond to Iowa One Call locate requests.
Proficiency with GIS/GPS mapping, CAD, and CMMS is important. You’ll work primarily in the field (80%) with some indoor documentation tasks, and you must hold a valid U.S.
As a Utility Locator, you'll help protect and maintain critical campus utility infrastructure by identifying and marking underground utility assets before excavation activities begin. You'll support the safe and reliable operation of electrical, fiber, steam, condensate, chilled water, potable water, stormwater, and sanitary sewer systems across the University of Iowa campus.
In this role, you'll coordinate closely with ENGIE operations teams, university stakeholders, contractors, planners, and GIS/CAD specialists to support construction projects, utility maintenance, and infrastructure improvements. You'll respond to Iowa One Call locate requests, maintain accurate utility records, and contribute to mapping and asset management initiatives that enhance system reliability, safety, and long-term planning.
Hourly Range: $27.40 - $42.00 USD hourly
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
