Job summary

The University System of New Hampshire seeks a Utilities Systems Manager to plan and direct campus utility operations including water, steam, and energy distribution. You will manage the Water Treatment Plant contract, coordinate regulatory compliance, and lead the utility crew in project delivery and asset management.

Preferred candidates hold degrees in engineering or related fields, with 5–10+ years’ experience and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5–10+ years in utility management or related engineering field.
  • Experience managing multiple contracts and large campus utility projects.
  • Valid NH driver’s license and relevant certifications are preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of utility production and distribution systems and safety codes.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and oversee campus utility operations and design for water, steam, and energy systems.
  • Administer the Water Treatment Plant Operations and Maintenance Contract.
  • Coordinate MS4 stormwater permit compliance and related reporting.
  • Supervise and develop the Utility Distribution crew; recruit, hire, and train staff.
  • Manage small projects, asset management, and campus energy upgrades.
  • Develop annual maintenance plans and oversee funding for major projects.
