Job summary

North Carolina Central University (NCCU) Transportation & Parking is seeking a Vehicle Equipment Operator Pool on a part-time basis (30 hours/week) with a temporary appointment likely renewable. Drivers will cover multiple campus routes and gain knowledge of campus and surrounding areas.

The position requires a valid NC driver’s license and two years of driving experience, the ability to read maps and maintain logs, and the DOT medical card or ability to obtain one. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• Valid NC driver's license with at least two years' driving experience.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English; read maps and maintain records.
• DOT medical card or ability to obtain and maintain one.

Responsibilities

• Drive over the road buses, shuttles, vans, and utility vehicles on campus routes.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and ensure safety for students, faculty, staff.
• Assist passengers, including mobility-impaired riders, and support with loading/unloading as needed.
