Job summary

Texas A&M University is seeking a Transit Bus Driver to operate East Texas A&M University transit routes with a focus on safety and customer service. The role requires a valid Texas CDL with passenger and air brakes endorsements and the ability to train others.

Responsibilities include performing pre/post-trip inspections, maintaining the vehicle, handling schedules, and providing information to riders. This position is on-site with a security-sensitive environment and equal opportunity

Qualifications

• High school graduation or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Two years of work experience.
• Oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
• Must be able to obtain Texas class B CDL with passenger endorsement and air brakes endorsements within 45 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Drives ETAMU transit routes as scheduled.
• Operates vehicles safely in accordance with policies and laws.
• Fuels vehicles and returns them as instructed.
• Assists in training new drivers.
• Conducts pre- and post-trip inspections and notes discrepancies.
• Reports safety issues to a supervisor.
• Records time worked, emails, and leave requests.
• Maintains and cleans equipment during shifts.
