Job summary

Imperial Valley College is seeking a Substitute Technology Support Specialist to assist users with end-user tech needs, install and configure software, and support classroom technology. The position requires an AA/AS or 3+ years of relevant experience in enterprise tech support, with duties spanning help desk, training, and hands-on equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• AA or AS degree in computer science, information systems, or related field or a minimum of three (3) years of experience training users and providing direct end-user technology support in an enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist users in operating technology systems including computers, software, peripherals, and classroom equipment; install and configure software; enable network connectivity and security; provide training as needed.
• Install, maintain, and repair computer, audiovisual, video, and related equipment; diagnose failures and replace defective parts; identify major repairs.
• Serve as a help desk resource for faculty, staff and administrators; provide trainings and workshops; manage work orders and support students, faculty and staff via phone, email, or in person.
• Maintain records of work performed and inventory; generate reports and monitor usage and costs.
• Coordinate campus printing and duplication processes; liaise with vendors; ensure timely project completion.
• Instruct staff and students in use of equipment; set up audio/visual systems for instructional activities and events; transport equipment on campus.
• Train and supervise student workers; review student work.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
