Job summary

School of Science and Technology in Texas seeks a Teacher Fellow to provide classroom coverage when teachers are absent and to support campus-wide duties. This role acts as a talent pipeline for future full-time teaching openings within the district and reports to the Principal.

The position is full-time, non-exempt, with standard 193-day work year, and pays $21–$30.94 per hour as part of Pay Grade PG-1060.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required (or actively pursuing degree).
• Eligible to enroll in a teacher certification program.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction based on provided lesson plans and learning objectives, using appropriate instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs.
• Cover classrooms campus-wide when the assigned teacher is absent
• Manage student behavior and classroom routines
• Take attendance and complete required documentation
• Build positive, professional relationships with students, staff, families, and campus leadership.
• Work collaboratively with experienced teachers to strengthen instructional planning and classroom practices
• Support campus-wide duties as assigned (duty, lunch, dismissal, testing, etc.)
• Communicate with administration on coverage needs
• Attend required staff meetings and professional development
• Step into full-time teaching roles as openings arise
• Perform any other duties as assigned
