Job summary

School Of Science & Technology in Sugar Land, TX seeks a Teacher Fellow to cover classrooms when teachers are absent and to support campus-wide duties as assigned. This role acts as a talent pipeline for future full-time teaching openings within the district.

The position is full-time (193 days) with reporting to the Human Resources Department and a non-exempt status. The incumbent will work with campus educators to ensure continuity of instruction and student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required (or actively pursuing degree).
• Eligible to enroll in a teacher certification program

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction based on provided lesson plans and learning objectives, using appropriate instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs.
• Cover classrooms campus-wide when the assigned teacher is absent
• Manage student behavior and classroom routines
• Take attendance and complete required documentation
• Build positive, professional relationships with students, staff, families, and campus leadership.
• Work collaboratively with experienced teachers to strengthen instructional planning and classroom practices
• Communicate with administration on coverage needs
• Attend required staff meetings and professional development
• Step into full-time teaching roles as openings arise
• Perform any other duties as assigned
