Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, IL is seeking a Stationary Engineer to ensure safe, reliable operation, maintenance and repair of campus mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and BAS systems. The role supports teaching, research and clinical operations while maintaining a comfortable campus environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; five years of commercial/institutional maintenance experience; Stationary Engineer License or equivalent; EPA Universal Certification (or within 180 days); valid Illinois Driver's License.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, BAS controls, CMMS, Microsoft Office, troubleshooting, communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate, inspect, troubleshoot, maintain and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Monitor and optimize BAS.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on chillers, boilers, pumps, cooling towers, AHUs, fan coil units, motors and associated equipment.
• Support research laboratories and critical environments.
• Complete work orders using CMMS.
• Coordinate contractors.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in on-call rotation.
• Improve reliability and energy efficiency.
• Follow OSHA, EPA, NFPA and University safety requirements.
