Job summary

Merrimack College is seeking a Space Planner to manage the allocation and optimization of space across its North Andover campus. The role collaborates with academic and administrative leaders, Facilities staff, and external partners to support renovations, relocations, and capital planning.

Responsibilities include maintaining floor plans and coordinating moves, furniture planning, and ensuring spaces meet institutional priorities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in Interior Design/Interior Architecture preferred.
5+ years of experience in spatial planning.
CSPA certification preferred.
Higher Education or multi-building property management preferred.
Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

Allocate and coordinate space across campus facilities to support academic, administrative, student, and operational needs.
Collaborate with senior leadership and Facilities staff to assess current and future space needs and contribute to capital planning and renovations.
Analyze campus space utilization and recommend improvements for classrooms, offices, and common areas.
Maintain accurate floor plans, blueprints, space records, and related facilities documentation.
Coordinate relocations, furniture allocation, and campus moves with IT, vendors, and stakeholders.
Communicate effectively with campus departments to identify space needs and resolve concerns.
