Job summary

Quinnipiac University is hiring a Sous Chef on campus to support the Executive Chef in preparing meals and supervising kitchen staff. This role is based at 305 Sherman Avenue, Hamden, CT 06518 with both full-time and part-time schedules and weekend shifts.

Prior cook/culinary experience and supervisory background are required. Pay ranges from $23.00 to $25.00 per hour, with benefits and perks including Instapay through the One @Work app.

Qualifications

• Previous cook/culinary experience required.
• Supervisor experience required.
• Must be able to work weekends.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards.
• Supervises hourly food service associates and scheduling, payroll, training and reviews as appropriate.
• Stores food safely and maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils.
• Maintains proper food handling, temperatures and portion control.
• Interacts with customers to resolve complaints and explains daily menu items.
