Job summary

Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School District in Danvers, MA seeks a Campus Security Team Member to patrol the campus, respond to emergencies, and enforce district policies. Essex North Shore is seeking a CampusSecurity Team Member. The Campus Security Team Member is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the campus community by patrolling the premises, responding to emergencies, and enforcing District policies and regulations. The Campus Security Team Member provides a visible security presence and assists with maintaining a safe environment for all.

CORI, SAFIS and SORI required.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Campus Security Team Member

FAIR LABOR STANDARDS ACT (FLSA) CLASSIFICATION:

This position is classified as Salaried, Non-Exempt (Overtime Eligible).

REPORTING STRUCTURE:

The Campus Security Team Member reports to the Director of Facilities, Farm, and Grounds or their designee.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• An associate's degree in criminal justice or a related field is required.
• Law enforcement experience preferred.
• Experience working with adolescents, particularly those aged 14-19.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and a strong self-starter.
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues.
• Good attendance record.
• Positive attitude.
• Able to follow the District’s policies and procedures.
• CPR/First Aid Certification.
• Valid Massachusetts driver’s license.
• Alternatives to the above qualifications may be found appropriate and in conformity with state and federal law by the Superintendent-Director.

DUTIES:

• Monitor all parts of the Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School campus.
• Supervise the arrival and departure of students.
• Assist in maintaining all school rules, including but not limited to what is posted in handbooks.
• Monitor restrooms throughout the day.
• Monitor cafeterias and hallways and report any incidences.
• Supervise parking lots before and after school.
• Develop positive and healthy relationships with students and staff.
• Supervise student-athletes during early release time.
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities, Farm, and Grounds or their designee.

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position requires conducting rounds through campus on foot and by school issued vehicle and prolonged sitting at a desk and monitoring cameras. Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times. The position may require in and out-of-district travel.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• This is a school year position (184 work days); hours are from 7:00am-3:00pm and until the parking lots are cleared after school dismissal, but may change with notice.
• Salary and fringe benefits are established by the Superintendent-Director in accordance with the policies established by the School Committee.
