Job summary

St. Augustine Preparatory Academy seeks a dedicated School Security Officer for a full-time 10-month role at Aug Prep South Campus in the Milwaukee area. You will help maintain a safe environment for staff and students and support daily school operations.

The position reports to the Director of Security and Student Safety; candidates should embrace Aug Prep’s faith-based mission and demonstrate strong de-escalation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in security and/or in a school setting preferred.
• Completion of college-level courses in security, teacher assistant, or criminal justice preferred.
• Proficiency with Google software.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
• Alignment with Aug Prep Mission Statement and Faith beliefs.

Responsibilities

• Patrol and monitor assigned areas to keep students and staff safe.
• Support school regulations and policies fairly and equitably.
• De-escalate student and staff situations when needed.
• Assist administrators during crises and emergencies.
• Manage student transitions and guide through hallways.
• Report emergencies to Head of Security and document incidents.
• Participate in fire and emergency drills.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student information.
