Job summary

Beacon Health System in Michigan seeks a dedicated Security Officer to monitor facilities, respond to threats, and document incidents. You will support staff and visitors, enforce alarms and emergency procedures, and participate in drills to ensure readiness.

A valid Michigan driver license and firearms license are required before hire. High school equivalency or 1 year of related experience accepted; preferred credentials include advanced security certifications.

Qualifications

• High school equivalency or 1 year of relevant security experience.
• Licensure/certification can substitute for education or experience.
• Must obtain Michigan Driver's License and Michigan Concealed Pistol License prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs proactive monitoring of and timely responses to potential/actual security threats.
• Investigates, documents and manages security incidents and hazards.
• Maintains knowledge/follows policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans. May facilitate planned drills and simulations.
• Provides information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety.
• For those security officers who are responsible for operating a vehicle, operates in a safe and responsible manner to avoid accidents and traffic or parking violations.
