Job summary

UMass Chan Campus seeks a Security and Safety Aide to support campus safety through regular security checks, access control, and incident reporting. You will deter crime, protect property, and respond to safety concerns across hospital and school facilities.

The role requires HS graduate, 2 years in public safety or customer service, and CPR/First Aid certification within three months of hire; strong communication is essential for interacting with staff, patients, and visitors.

Qualifications

• HS graduate or equivalent required.
• Two years of experience and/or formal training in public safety or customer service.
• Strong communication skills to interact with employees, patients and visitors.
• CPR/First Aid certification required within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform security rounds, monitor doors and entry points, and oversee access control.
• Respond to alarms, manage pedestrian and parking safety, and issue badges.
• Provide first aid, coordinate with dispatch, and assist police as needed.
• Enforce hospital/school policies on no smoking, badge monitoring, and access control.
• Complete incident reports and provide administrative support.
