Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Public Safety Officer to protect patients, staff and visitors. This role involves vigilant patrols, incident reporting and adherence to hospital security policies. The schedule includes weekends with 32 hours weekly, and the position is non-exempt.

Qualifications

• Three years related experience and/or training in public safety.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Annual safety trainings and certifications as specified.

Responsibilities

• Participates in Hospital emergency room programs.
• Patrols buildings and grounds; protects patients, staff, and property.
• Watches for irregularities; reports incidents to Security Leadership and local authorities.
• Maintains records of incidents and coordinates with hospital leadership.
• Complies with departmental policies, participates in meetings, and supports quality improvement.
• Maintains regular attendance and performs related duties as required.
