Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time armed security officer in Chicago, IL. You will provide customer service to students, staff and visitors while enforcing campus policies and emergency procedures.

Responsibilities include patrolling campus buildings and grounds, responding to incidents with calm, professional demeanor, and documenting activities clearly in reports. A high school diploma and armed license are required.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• An armed guard card or license is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen are required as a condition of employment.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors while carrying out site-specific procedures, campus policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, requesting additional assistance as needed.
• Maintain readiness and handle assigned equipment in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, site procedures, and Allied Universal policies.
• Document patrol activities, incidents, observations, and actions taken through clear and timely reports.
