Job summary

Chattanooga State campus seeks a Security Guard 1 to assist the campus police in maintaining a safe and secure learning environment. The guard will monitor spaces, traffic, and incidents, respond to emergencies, and support students and staff as needed.

The position reports to the campus Chief of Police. Applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED and a Tennessee Private Protective Services License (Unarmed), plus one year of security experience and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and Tennessee Private Protective Services License (Unarmed) are required.
• One year of security-related work experience is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor campus spaces and traffic to deter and report safety concerns.
• Escort or transport individuals as needed and provide assistance during emergencies.
• Lock/unlock buildings and monitor access to maintain security.
• Prepare clear incident and activity reports for campus police.
• Coordinate with campus police and respond to alarms or disturbances as required.
