Job summary

Chattanooga State seeks Police Officers to support campus safety and security. The Police Officer performs duties to protect property, staff, students, and visitors, and to ensure safety in alignment with the college's strategic plan.

The role requires vigilance, incident reporting, and collaboration with local law enforcement where needed. Required qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and either three years of police experience or a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice, plus Tennessee

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED as minimum education.
• Three years of work experience in police work or a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice.
• Tennessee POST Certification or certification from another state's agency with less than three (3) years break in full-time law enforcement service upon the date of hire and not having been previously decertified as a law enforcement officer by a police certifying agency.

Responsibilities

• Investigate incidents and accidents to support college goals.
• Protect property, facilities, staff, and students.
• Monitor campus activities and report suspicious activity.
• Escort or drive a golf cart for transport and protection.
• Respond to requests for assistance from students, faculty, and staff.
• Direct traffic and manage campus safety communications.
