Job summary

Covenant Living Communities and Services in California seeks a Security Guard to protect residents and staff, monitor the campus and vehicles, and respond to emergencies during the security shift. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, two years security experience, a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, and first aid certification.

Ability to read and write English and strong interpersonal skills are important for serving an elderly community.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Two years of security or related experience.
• Current state driver’s license (CDL preferred) and a good driving record.
• First aid certification and experience in emergency medical situations.
• Ability to read and write in English and communicate with residents and staff.
• Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.
• Good observational skills.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing conditions.
• California candidates must maintain a valid California Security License.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency call system.
• Evaluate need to notify on-call personnel and follow procedures.
• Call 911 in emergencies and coordinate with responders.
• Check and secure security equipment and perform campus patrols.
• Secure exterior doors in all buildings.
• Monitor vehicle traffic and enforce campus policies.
• Familiarize with campus layout, equipment areas, and systems.
• Reset HVAC chiller and fire detector panels as needed.
• Write and distribute incident reports.
• Log safety hazards and submit maintenance requests in WorxHub.
• Provide maintenance/housekeeping support as directed.
• Provide non-emergency residential services that do not conflict with security.
